GOD'S CALL TO HOLINESS

"For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from immorality. ... For God has not called us for uncleanness, but in holiness" 1 Thessalonians 4:3,7.

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE is the Spirit's instrument for our salvation and our sanctification. John 17:17; 2 Thessalonians 2:13,14; Ephesians 6:17.

OUR SPIRITUAL BIRTH, our regeneration and our sanctification begin when we are brought forth through the Holy Spirit by the word of Truth - the imperishable and abiding word of God. 1 Peter 1:22-25; James 1:18,21.

JESUS TAUGHT that we must be born from above of the Spirit, and without this new birth we can not enter the kingdom of God. It is when we obey from the heart the teaching of the Gospel in baptism that we contact the saving blood of Christ and receive the indwelling of the Spirit. John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38; 5:32; Titus 3:4-7; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Hebrews 10:19-25; 1 Peter 1:2,3, 18-22.

OUR SANCTIFICATION comes about as we benefit from the single sacrifice for our sins made by Christ on the cross. Those who have been purified by the blood of Christ at their obedience to the Gospel must seek to be set apart from the corruption of the world in holiness. Our loving Father desires that we remain separated from the influence of evil. Hebrews 10:10-14; 2 Corinthians 7:1; 2 Timothy 2:19-22; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN RAISED WITH CHRIST must chose to live after the influence of the Holy Spirit, and not according to the desires of the flesh. Romans 6:1-19; Galatians 5:16-25; Colossians 3:1-17.

"MAY THE GOD OF PEACE HIMSELF SANCTIFY YOU WHOLLY;
AND MAY YOUR SPIRIT AND SOUL AND BODY BE KEPT SOUND AND BLAMELESS
AT THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST." 1 Thessalonians 5:23
